The recipes you create are private to your account, and we enter into a non-disclosure agreement for your recipe details when you sign up for ReciPal (see terms).
Beyond that, you don't have to enter preparation instructions or any details aside from your ingredients and their amounts. Your recipes will always remain confidential, until of course you publish your cookbook :)
While we at ReciPal take the utmost care to protect your privacy and data, remember to protect yourself with a strong password, and if using a public computer remember to sign out and close all browser windows after you're done using ReciPal.
